New App: Shell Extensions – Public Edition 1.0
Ok, I previously had a similar package that only utilized GooG, and had no real install/configure/uninstall support. Well now I got all that and more…
GooG functionality: Ever wanted to right click a file and select “Google It” from the available choices? How about simply double click a .DLL file to “Google It” when you don’t know what it is? Need more? Try to “Google It with Full Path” if you need more specific information. GooG is but one of many Shell Extensions which I use while browsing the file system of someone else’s hard drive from my Tech Bench Computer or bootable WinPE based CD.
Regsvr32.exe functionality: Adds ability to right-click a DLL or ActiveX file and choose to register or unregister the file. No more dropping to the command prompt and switching paths, just right-click!
Run with Parameters functionality: Adds an advanced run dialog box via right-click menu for executables. The run box allows you to run an executable with command-line parameters (switches), optionally catch the programs errorlevel (exit code/return code) on exit, and also optionally store a history of your frequently used parameters so you won’t have to type them again. Like the regsvr32 functionality, no more dropping to a command prompt for this!
As stated, the app has full install/uninstall support, but can also be used as a portable app, see notes during installation.
