Hi Nick
I purchased a premium license when you first came out with it. and installed it on my home network. How do I know if it’s automatically updating? I never see anything that tells me it has been updated.
Is there a place in the registry I can confirm the current version is in place?
Ray, if you run CryptoPrevent from the start menu > programs > Foolish IT > CryptoPrevent you will see the version number in the top of the titlebar of the program’s window right next to the name.
NOTE that your automatic update edition update schedule is randomly created during installation, for an update time between 8am and 5pm (your time zone — the random factor is so that I don’t have every user ever connecting to my server all at once…)
So you may or may not be updated today, it may be tomorrow if your update occurred before I released it today.
To see when you are scheduled to update you can open Windows Task Scheduler from Control Panel and see what time the CryptoPrevent update task is scheduled to run.
Last but not least, unless you have a redirected %appdata% (and you would definitely know this if you did) then this update isn’t very exciting as it really does nothing different for you.
