Fresh install of Windows. Not even google.com would load – it won’t even show the bookmark manager, but would show the settings page — strange. No plugins installed, no A/V, no 3rd party firewall, most of the Windows updates done already…
So I had this issue today on a client’s fresh install of Windows 7 x64 running an ATI Mobility HD 4250 chipset (using the latest driver from Dell.) Why do I mention that? Not sure if it’s relevant… but check out the FIX:
- In the Chrome omnibox, type chrome://flags
- In the new window, find GPU Composting and DISABLE it.
- Relaunch Chrome to solve the problem.
Interesting, yes? Hope it helps…
