Recently there have been several issues which have plagued a small number of D7 users that I cannot explain or reproduce. The first issue is that D7 after update would complain that it wasn’t registered – any attempt to re-register it was met with the same message. The second issue is simply that D7 is not starting, however it is visible as a running process.
While I can’t quite put my finger on the problem, I have disabled some startup code which seems to have resolved the issue in early reports I’m getting from affected users. If you are affected by one of these problems, here is what you can do:
Download the latest D7 version from below. Extract/copy the D7.EXE from the archive to your current D7 directory. Last when you start D7, everything should function as normal.
I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you and will do my best to isolate the actual issue before it affects future versions of D7.
