Happy New Year!
- An issue exists when switching d7x configs through Config Mgmt Portal where certain existing config items are “bleeding in” to the newly adopted config.
- The related code has been tweaked with this release, but hasn’t been *fixed* 100%, but this is because …
- … some bleed is desirable, so you don’t have to perform certain elements of configuration over and over again on new configs (e.g. re-copy backup/source logo files to the appropriate directory, or the newly implemented Google Drive access token bleeding through will prevent you from needing to reauthenticate your Google account with each config switch, etc.)
- Another issue was fixed when switching d7x configs: pre-existing info on the last download of each custom app, which shouldn’t ever be overwritten, was in fact being overwritten under some very common circumstances. This was of course causing some custom apps to be re-downloaded when they shouldn’t have been.
- Tweaked the saved timestamp of the last upload/download/merge for config/definitions through Config Mgmt Portal, to add one minute to the timestamp saved to d7x config, in order to compensate for a slight discrepancy in some number of seconds with the final timestamp on the server (be it dCloud, self-hosted FTP, or Google Drive) which would sometimes cause d7x to incorrectly believe the config and/or defs on the server were newer. This was just a more convenient solution (and far faster) than re-checking with the server to copy the final timestamp from there.
- Misc. minor tweaks throughout the software, just a few examples include:
- more areas where a date/time are displayed will now conform to the same display format as configured in d7x config,
- some language updated to include Windows 11 where applicable,
- added/tweaked some functionality descriptions in various areas,
- etc. etc.
- If you’re reading this and haven’t seen the release notes in the last few days/releases, you should know that we have Google Drive integration not only for Reports, but now for every aspect of d7x including Custom App downloads and Config Mgmt Portal usage including the d7x Remote Deployment Tool (and that means you can use multi-factor authentication with your d7xRDT!)
- v22.1.1.1
- Right-clicking a config in Config Mgmt Portal and selecting the first menu option (to Overwrite with Local Config) was previously not working as expected, it would only overwrite the currently active config name, so in essence it was the exact same as pressing the “Save Local Config to Server” button. This has been fixed, and now the selected config is indeed overwritten.
