- Updated d7x (and default custom apps) today to address a problem downloading CPU-Z and GPU-Z. Both custom apps have been updated to reflect a download URL of “d7x://” indicating that d7x is using special download logic to retrieve the file, which in each case above is more than just downloading a single file.
- CPU-Z would be ok with a standard download URL, but since the URL/filename is constantly changing with updates, d7x needs to determine the current URL/filename (now it does, so that when a new version is released you don’t need to wait for a d7x default custom apps update in order for the download to work.)
- GPU-Z has a more complicated download process now as there is no direct download URL to be used since they are random/expiring, and I don’t won’t get into how I’m actually doing it for obvious reasons.
- Both apps have been updated to always re-download the app after 14 days has elapsed, so every two weeks it should force a fresh download of the latest software.
- The problem with the following custom apps was that they constantly needed to be updated to reflect a new version of the app, now d7x will determine the latest download available using internal download logic due to “d7x://” in the URL field of the latest custom apps update. Likewise, automatic re-download has been enabled for these apps in order to re-download if the app is more than 7 days old, guaranteeing a new version at least weekly (unless a variation is noted below.)
- CrystalDiskInfo
- CrystalDiskMark
- OpenHardwareMonitor – this app is now configured to re-download a new version every 14 days.
- Other Custom Apps Updated today:
- Windows Repair AIO was updated…
- to wait for the tray icon to close
- to save your “settings.ini” file after running it, and to import it on subsequent runs. This ensures that any preferences you change in the app are saved between d7x sessions (including the EULA accept prompt, as well as disabling the Tray Icon, which can be done in the app on the Settings tab.)
- Windows Repair AIO (Auto) will also import the saved settings.ini file that is saved with the Windows Repair AIO profile.
