d7II v3 is now officially released and ready for use (sort of.) The sort of means, your copy of v2.x.x will not automatically update to it. Read on.
v3 is a major code re-write of core functions, much like the difference between d7 and d7II. This time the rewrite deals with how d7II handles internal functions, essentially turning them into the same type of “building blocks” that custom apps have, where you can reorder them, mix n’ match your custom apps with d7II internal functions in your auto mode lists, etc. There are FAR more configuration possibilities now!
Also some new functions were introduced (which like anything else now, can be placed anywhere) such as an Email Alert which you can configure anywhere, such as right before your custom apps that require manual interaction.
There are other new things included, like new descriptive text that appears below each custom app and internal function in your lists (this can of course be disabled individually in Config > Register/Personalize) and new NiniteOne configurability.
There is but one catch! The configuration for v3’s custom apps / functions configuration, and auto mode profiles, is INCOMPATIBLE with v2.x.x. I am attempting to work on a conversion tool for the old configuration format, but it isn’t coming along well. As it turns out, I needed to release some fixes to functionality in v2.x.x today, before I could complete the conversion functionality, so I went ahead and released v3 now for those having issues with v2.x.x. Unfortunately as a result, you will need to setup your auto mode lists all over again. For this reason, v2.x.x will NOT update to v3.
Note that the rest of your config (such as registration, email config, FTP config, and other preferences, are indeed compatible. So you can drop the new v3 executable directly into your v2 folder and start it up, retaining *most* settings.
