If you don’t know PC Repair Tracker, then you should. I’m not going to get into why I’m starting to fall in love with this software, all the features, etc. because it is irrelevant. This post is for people who already know and use it (that and d7 🙂
A short time ago I had the pleasure of speaking with Luke, a PC tech and shop owner, who also develops PCRT. You see, I have been discovering that a lot of my users RAVE about PCRT, and having not heard of it before, I was very curious. After looking at the project, I decided this was something I wanted a taste of. So I got in touch with Luke and we put our heads together on what we could do to make life a little easier for all of our users. Here’s the first thing we came up with – d7 reports.
Starting with the newly released d7 v9.6, and PCRT v1.37 Final, you can now upload your d7 reports to PCRT, straight from within d7! Once uploaded, PCRT recognizes them, alerts the tech of the upload, and from there you are able to attach them to your work order. SWEET!
If you do happen to use both, get more details on the setup to make it all happen here: https://www.d7xtech.com/d7/online-manual/config/pcrt-config/ but forgive my crude PCRT instructions, you may get better mileage by reading the instructions Luke includes within the v1.37 release.
I think this will be a nice little feature for users of both our software packages. If you don’t use PCRT or haven’t heard of it, I highly encourage you to check out the demo by emailing info at-symbol pcrepairtracker.com
