Just in case you didn’t get a peek at it yet: The report is actually a lot longer then the pics here, but I’ve cut off a bit to keep it brief. Here you’ll see how I’ve cleaned up the Nirsoft reports, stripping a lot of extra garbage.
If you have D7 configured with an applogo.bmp in your D7Config directory, you’ll notice that logo is now appearing on the new HTML Info Report. The deal is this, if you have a full size company graphic you would rather display there, simply get a PNG, JPG, BMP, or GIF of ANY SIZE, place in the D7Config directory, and name it “reportlogo” e.g. reportlogo.png That’s it! The next time you generate a report you’ll have...
What do you think? Still trying to get it like I *want* it, but very close in my development version. Your opinions and ideas are always welcome!
Now you can use your own FTP server for uploading your D7 Reports, storing D7 Config, or even for downloading your own custom apps / tools. Added HTML report generation for D7 Info Report with your logo on it, and a print button! (needs a little tweaking for appearance…) Significantly increased D7 startup times in some circumstances, by skipping the lengthy internet connection test when an invalid IP is detected. Misc bug fixes and tweaks...
Just uploaded, get it while it’s hot! Also put in a little splash screen and a nice new icon – far better and more professional looking (and generic, in a good way) than the old Foolish IT circular, hope you like the new graphic! If a customer asks you what the “d” stands for, just say it’s “da cloud” hah.
Just wanted to give a quick breakdown and introduction to the new functionality in v8… Red X behavior (the close button for the main window) is now configurable! Visit Config > Custom Stuff to configure the default shutdown behavior when clicking this button. Holding the F8 key while starting D7 brings up a startup menu with new options (this also replaces the old get system access prompt.) Among these options are the ability to start...
A new startup feature emerges, and a ton of under-the-hood work has been done hopefully making this upcoming version function more smoothly when dealing with the system account, among other things. Here are a list of changes: New method of starting apps under the system account when running under a standard account, affecting several functions (but not enough, more to come.) New method of starting apps (like Explorer) running as a standard account from the...
I discovered a new method of enabling you to launch the same program to have it behave differently, specifically holding down keys while starting the app. This has enabled me to bundle 3 new operational modes into the same KillEmAll.scr executable. Operational modes: Classic mode: Execute KillEmAll.scr normally. Debug mode: Hold CTRL down while executing KillEmAll.scr Asks you prior to terminating each individual process, useful for troubleshooting. Service mode: Hold SHIFT down while executing KillEmAll.scr...
After getting seeing this (yet again) on message forums, and also getting a personal email about it from a D7 user this morning, I figure maybe I should blog it. I need some feedback on D7 Locksmith anyway. First, people don’t seem to realize that Windows 8 has two different types of user accounts – a local Windows account, and a Microsoft Live account. I’m not sure why some people haven’t noticed this, but maybe...
Special thanks goes out to: Charles Kent, GySgt USMC(Ret) …a super contributor to D7 and Foolish IT cause, he has donated no paltry amount and more times than I can count, not to mention how he has served my country and fought for the freedoms that I enjoy. Thanks Charles, you are the best!
