Resolved an issue where DataGrab would backup everything except your selected user accounts under certain circumstances. Fixed a double “Backup Complete” prompt when DataGrab completes.
Resolved an issue with the “Reset Networking” and “Repair Winsock” (Proceed with Defaults option) on Windows 10 and 11 that caused several issues with the OS after reboot when running the repair from Windows Safe Mode.
Resolved an issue with the “Set Time Zone” feature on Windows 11 that was causing Explorer.exe to crash constantly after time zone was changed. Note this same issue appeared in our Tweaky app, and was also resolved in Tweaky v22.8.5.2. Updated Windows service repairs for recent updates to Windows (up to Windows 11 version 22H2.)
It appears that d7x was not applying hidden file and file extension preferences properly during End Session under some circumstances, which should now be fixed. Also, an issue not yet resolved: it seems that d7x’s ability to refresh the desktop to show these file changes is not working in the latest build of Windows 10, and as of yet there is no resolution. As a result, when starting d7x for the first time (or after...
Added Microsoft OneDrive integration for d7x Reports storage (see the d7x Config > Reports > OneDrive Integration tab.) Please see the manual (at the link above) for all considerations prior to using this functionality. OneDrive integration was added as a convenience to those who would rather use it over Google Drive, but we would like to recommend that most people should consider Google Drive integration instead, for several reasons (particularly if you have multiple technicians...
Added a user requested option to change the Info Report type (full/no passwords/minimal) when automatically generating an Info Report during session startup (on the d7x Config > Session > Start Session tab.) Split the d7x Config setting to “Show Hidden/SuperHidden Files” into two separate settings “Show Hidden Files” and “Also Show Hidden System Files” under the Behavior/Updates tab > Startup Behavior. The two new settings (until configured otherwise) will use the previously combined config setting. ...
A new ‘d7x Release Notes (RSS)‘ window will display the d7xTech blog RSS feed (specifically for d7x Release Notes) complete with a one-click topic search for any available tags. The window will appear after a d7x update, or you may view it anytime by clicking the ‘Help‘ dropdown menu. on 2022/01/12 d7xDesktopInfo.exe was updated to remove CD-ROMs from the drive space output (duh, CD-ROMs are always 0 GB free.)
Added new d7x feature to show system info on the Windows 10/11 desktop. This is similar to Sysinternals BGInfo.exe (but built-in to d7x) or O&O DeskInfo (but portable!), and with some optional nifty background effects for the wallpaper. .\d7x Resources\d7xDesktopInfo.exe is also a portable application which you can use independently of d7x! Additional configuration and more information for this feature is available, see the d7xDesktopInfo page in the d7x Manual here. CONTACT US to request...
Happy New Year! An issue exists when switching d7x configs through Config Mgmt Portal where certain existing config items are “bleeding in” to the newly adopted config. The related code has been tweaked with this release, but hasn’t been *fixed* 100%, but this is because … … some bleed is desirable, so you don’t have to perform certain elements of configuration over and over again on new configs (e.g. re-copy backup/source logo files to the...
Added Google Drive integration for Custom Apps, so that now you can store your custom app zip/exe files to a path on Google Drive. Specify filename only in the “Google Drive Filename” field in your Custom App config; you can set the Drive path (where the custom apps are stored) on the Config > Apps/Functions tab > Google Drive Integration tab. By default this is “d7x Files\3rd Party Tools”. Any time a Google Drive filename...
