Basically a tech spoke to me about an alternative to HitmanPro Kickstarter, used to take out the tough malware that doesn’t let you run anything from inside Windows (including safe mode/command prompt.) Immediately I thought hey, why I don’t I take my recently invented dBug, and make it work offline?! See the official page for usage/details/download: https://www.d7xtech.com/vb6-projects/dbug/ Recent Changes: 1.1 – Added a WinPE mode so dBug can run from a WinPE environment and make its […]
Yes, another “d” product! dBug is a tiny utility that serves the same purpose as KillEmAll, to neutralize malware that prevents you from running anti-malware tools, while taking a far different approach and working much faster. dBug does NOT locate or remove malware. It merely provides you with the opportunity to run anti-malware tools or manually find and remove the malware. More info + video + download here: https://www.d7xtech.com/vb6-projects/dbug/
There is a new license in town, and it’s the new d7II Single Technician license, which can be purchased for a mere $179/annual. That’s like $15/month when you break it down. NICE! New subscribers: Simply go to the website and subscribe to the new plan! Existing subscribers: If you are a single technician with no employees then you qualify for the new pricing plan. If you qualify: If you are currently subscribed to an annual plan, you may contact […]
EDIT: dErase v2.0 just released with a user interface and combining both executables. The freeware dErase is a tiny app designed for one purpose only, to delete files and/or directories, with optional secure deletion routines. Simply drag n’ drop the file or directory tree you want to delete onto the dErase executable to select that object for deletion. What makes dErase different from standard delete utilities, is that it will ignore file system ownership/permissions entirely while deleting. dErase Homepage
Previously, CryptoPrevent only came in a standard EXE based installer file, which is great and can be deployed silently/automatically via command line parameters, and this is ok for those with RMM tools to deploy with. Unfortunately most admins of domains were stuck without a way to deploy CryptoPrevent via GPO, as it was not available as an MSI based installer. Well, I finally figured out the tools for MSI creation, yay! So now when your purchase […]
v3.5 ATTN: dUninstaller log file renamed from dUninstaller.log to dUninstaller_log.txt (to make it easier to open the file in notepad for quick viewing.) dUninstaller log file now shows when an application has failed to uninstall (may be somewhat prone to a false positive when multiple apps contain the same string of text, e.g. “program name” and “program name v2.0” ONLY IF “program name” is the first one to get uninstalled instead of the v2.0 of it. […]
If you’ve followed Foolish IT in the past few years, you may remember dMaintenance, which got some attention on some popular tech sites at the time. What was dMaintenance was later revamped in dSupportSuite and even the popular technician’s repair multi-tool d7II, which contain newer updated versions of the old dMaintenance code with bug fixes and tons of new functionality. Until now, there was no option for home users to benefit from the same automated and […]
As promised, no more downloading zip files from my site! The check for updates button is on the Options tab, and allows you to force an update. There is also a new /update command line parameter that can be combined with others, which will auto-update the app prior to processing the other command line parameters passed to it. http://download.d7xtech.com/dUninstaller.zip
First off, I fixed another issue with processing whitelists. So update for that if nothing else. Second, up until now, you couldn’t blacklist or whitelist any preceding or trailing spaces around the search strings in your definitions files. These wrapping spaces were trimmed off of the string, so a careless space on its own line in the definitions didn’t trigger uninstalling every app with a space in it!! But now you can have wrapping […]
