NOW: The Happy Foolish Fun Hour (and customer support live video feed)
As quick as we started it and stopped it again, we’re returning to the live video feed that we started back in January which we called “What Did Foolish Do?” at the time. This time we’re really going to push to take live support chats via our support portal and website! We have live chat directly on our website at the Support Page or via our customer service/support portal at http://support.d7xtech.com Watch us live in JUST A FEW MINUTES […]
Nick and the Foolish IT staff on Podnutz recently
I really thought I blogged this previously. Hmm….? Thanks again for having us on Jeff we had fun and want to come back soon!!!
Several consecutive custom apps updates this morning are available to resolve issues with JRT and HitmanPro. JRT: fixed closing d7II process and stopping auto mode by adding d7II to its whitelist on the fly before the app runs HitmanPro: fixed detection/removal of certain custom apps in the d7II 3rd Party Tools directory by correcting a broken variable which is supposed to point to a whitelist which is generated on the fly before the app runs […]
Reprint from the community: Note the Default Apps update (v40) just released fixes a download link for Rogue Killer. The symptom of the issue causing the update was the PC rebooting as soon as Rogue Killer was ran. This was due to a bad download link – for some reason instead of a 404 that website does some redirects or something weird but d7II downloads a webpage from the non-existent links, causing it to think […]
Attention all PC Repair Business Owners, MSPs, and other IT Service Providers including any CryptoPrevent Resellers: We are happy to announce the Tech Directory, a new searchable IT Services/PC Repair business public database. We get a lot of web traffic from various home users and businesses with a lot of troubles, and we have always wanted a way to provide them with a the opportunity to find local and reputable IT/PC Repair services. Our new Tech Directory […]
ShadowExplorer (www.shadowexplorer.com) is an awesome application which I’ve used as a PC Technician many times in the past. It is used to provide a graphical ‘front-end’ interface for a rather complicated command line utility called VSSADMIN.EXE (an internal Windows component) which handles “Volume Shadow Copies” of files made by Windows. These are sort of ‘backups’ in a sense and the Volume Shadow Copy service in Windows is indeed used by various backup software to accomplish backup tasks. […]
Last night we transferred to a new server and website! Look! Ain’t it purdier! Ain’t it must faster?! Yay! Unfortunately the move was rushed due to some issues with the old server, so not all site resources are available. Notably this includes our free software product pages and our paid dMZ content. The dMZ content is of course being worked on at the moment and should be available shortly. The free software pages, not […]
I recently wrote about new positions and Foolish IT expansion, and just before that upcoming CryptoPrevent releases and new designs for our flagship software d7II. I have several important CryptoPrevent related announcements after this, but first I would like quote myself from one of these recent posts: CryptoPrevent was created in late 2013, on suggestion from an existing d7 customer, in order to help his customers shortly after the outbreak of the original CryptoLocker. It […]
To all customers of our PC technician and related software: This is kind of a double topic in one post, so let me first thank you for your attention. Something disturbing came to my attention after our latest newsletter, which contained the current product sale on d7II, CryptoPrevent Premium and also the Bulk/Resale Edition, along with a major CryptoPrevent update announcement. I became aware that customers of our tech related products, particularly active d7II subscribers, may occasionally feel […]
