Changes: Added confirmation prompt to menu setting to disable/enable User Account Control. Most config settings moved over to new d7x format. From the session start prompt, the auto-login users list now excludes standard user (non-admin) accounts entirely from the list of users to select. You can still type in a standard username and d7x will prompt you to promote the account to the Administrators group. Previously auto-login (if attempted on a standard user account) did […]
v18.11.29.0 (November 29th, 2018) Corrected issue when submitting Bulk configs for creation Fixed timing issues with registration in the Creator application (Bulk/White-Label) Other minor bug fixes We STILL have several more improvements already in development and testing, so there should be additional updates in the coming days. You can subscribe to this category of our blog to stay current on any new additions or changes!
Fixes: You can no longer bypass the Technician Password prompt (during initial setup) without creating a password. Corrected an extended time/freeze and excessive RAM usage while creating a screen shot. When using d7xRDT with a newer license type, d7x no longer fails to recognize the license after download. This release adds additional checks to a fix from last release. Corrected two issues with the Run Program dialog (shell extensions, displayed when right clicking on a file) […]
Corrected an extended time/freeze and excessive RAM usage while creating a screen shot during email to support. Implemented a check to ensure config download wasn’t corrupted and had extracted properly before overwriting an existing config. This should resolve issues where a corrupted configuration download would render the existing config blank; if this should occur it would have caused dSupportSuite to cease to function entirely, as well as a custom desktop icon to be replaced with […]
d7x v18.11.21 Release Notes Fixes: Corrected an issue retrieving new license formats (for purchases since Oct 2018) from d7xRDT, which forced users to enter the account credentials on deployment/startup. Please note: Although the error is corrected for newer license files, affected users may need to recreate your d7xRDT with this newest release in order to avoid being forced to enter in the Technician Password during deployment. Changes: Added Windows automatic update override settings to […]
dSupportSuite v18.11.20.1 Release Notes Fixes: Failure to send maintenance emails on completion. Failure to send email from the email button using internal/SMTP configuration (on failure the customer’s installed email client would pop up.) Failure to open the app’s config from dSupportSuite Mgmt Console when a password prompt was configured for that Client ID/Template.
d7x v18.11.17 Release Notes Improvements: Starting d7x while holding down the SHIFT key will run KillEmAll automatically killing all non-essential processes. Replaced “Run Program” functionality (from the Run Menu) with a new dialog containing more options, including command line argument usage. Now there should only be one (or two at most) ‘Examine File’ windows open, with new tabs populating for each subsequent file to examine. Note that two windows will be opened if the first […]
Two quick fixes in the d7x v18.11.12.0 Release: Fixed KillEmAll showing results/report in invisible Notepad window. Fixed Tools menu not populating.
dSupportSuite v18.11.9.1 Release Notes Additions: Added the ability to configure TLS/StartTLS in email encryption settings, as well as adding multiple authentication methods. Added the ability to configure windows to override the system restore point creation limitation of once every 24 hours. Changed default ‘Foolish IT’ text and registry settings to ‘d7xTech’. Fixes: Yet another fix related to CCleaner downloading (Non-Direct URLs was not functioning properly in all cases.)
Fixes: Maintenance Check/Reminder splash screen was non-functional (it was a new feature that was only partially implemented previously.) Registry backups as part of maintenance routine should have been deleting all but the last 10 backups, but it was not, causing excessive disk space usage on some systems over time. Should now prevent the accidental creation of multiple maintenance/heartbeat tasks which occurred under certain circumstances.
