If you missed the show from today or just want to review it again, we’ve got it edited and posted to our YouTube channel! We began this episode talking about some filesystem basics. We didn’t get to finish going over that subject but we’ll return to it in another episode. We worked with a client on a possible bug in CryptoPrevent’s uninstall routine. This occurs when CryptoPrevent is set to Max+Beta Filtering protection and then is uninstalled without administrative privileges. The protections won’t be removed but the program files will be. Luckily CP makes a backup of the exe & com registry values it changes and those were able to be re-imported and corrected the major issue launching EXE files. Past that CP would need to be re-installed and then uninstalled with administrative privileges or have the protection set to None before uninstalling. We also discussed some ways to determine spam mail and what to do when you get suspicious email and some options with actions to take before opening or trusting them.
We’ll be back on the air tomorrow (10/15/2015) at 4pm EST! Join us at http://www.foolishtechshow.com to join our live chat and talk with us directly!
