Just released with a NIC profiling feature on the NIC form.
What’s that? The NIC form is the thing that pops up with various network card configuration information when you click the IP Address at the top of D7.
Oh, you mean what’s the profiling feature. Well I just wanted a quick way to backup and restore static IP settings on a system.
I also wanted a quick way to inject OpenDNS or Google DNS in their network card settings, just in case I wasn’t doing that at the router level, for some reason.
Can’t guarantee it will work 100% of the time on 100% of the systems. I had a machine in the shop the other day briefly and it locked up when selecting the network adapter from the drop down. Didn’t figure it out, but it was during a WMI query and I wonder if WMI wasn’t hosed on the system – though a few other queries worked, strange. But I digress…
Try it out if you have the need!
Update regardless, because there is also a bug fix and some minor work, as always.
