- v21.10.8.2 – Updated Malware Search Tool for scanning Windows 10/11 services while ignoring the extra bit of random data after the underscore in an otherwise known service name (e.g. “SomeServiceName_42129”) when the service contains a known filename in the image path.
- Also, services whitelisted without an image path are no longer displayed, regardless of the actual image path of the service. This is useful when services have an image path with a random bit of characters in it (e.g. a version number) which is likely to change whereas the service name will not.
- To see or modify which services in your whitelist have an image path, you would need to manually edit your “.d7x Resources\Defs\User\Whitelist_RegSvcs.txt” file to remove the image path (removing everything after the first comma on each line you wish to edit.)
- The default definitions for Malware Search Tool were also updated with this release.
- Fixed the Web Search for “Safe Mode Services” on the Registry tab, which previously was searching for an empty string; now it will correctly search for the service name.
- Fixed: The top ribbon was not updating with RAM/OS/etc. info when d7x restarted to a tab other than the System Info tab.
- Improved temp internet file deletion for MS Edge, it seems d7x wasn’t getting all of them as some new temp areas were discovered recently.
- Clicking the Disable CEIP (MS Customer Experience Improvement Program) alert on the System Info tab previously opened the built-in Windows dialog allowing you to disable it; this Windows dialog is grayed out on Windows 10/11, not allowing you to change the setting, so now d7x prompts you to “Disable Telemetry and Data Collection” if you click the alert (running the tweak from the d7x Tweaks > Misc Tweaks tab which disables ME CEIP plus about a dozen other things.)
- The d7x “Reset Networking” function (which includes the “Reset Winsock” function) have both been updated to display what it is doing in the lower status bar each step of the way, rather than a single generic message.
- Misc work on various hover tips, function descriptions, etc. etc.
