Current Version: 21.11.23
Tweaky is not really designed for one-time usage, though it can be used this way as a one-off tweak or for evaluation purposes. Instead, Tweaky is designed for PC techs and IT pros who will be using it on a regular basis, who need to save specific configurations and deploy them repeatedly.
Tweaky (paid edition) is designed to load and save your preferred tweak configurations, so you don’t have to select every individual tweak you want each time. Scripting usage is also available.
Tweaky (free edition) is for evaluation or one-time usage. It does not support load/save profile functionality or scripting features. Additionally, some tweaks found in our other paid apps are disabled.

Manual
Tweaky is a fully portable application, meaning there is no installation or uninstallation. Just unzip the download to run Tweaky.exe.
Most tweaks (except the branding and file sharing/networking tweaks) display a shaded-in checkbox when the tweak is applied successfully, as evident in the app.
Right-Click on a tweak to apply that tweak by itself (without applying ALL selected tweaks.) Most tweaks (once applied, except the file sharing/networking tweaks) have an ‘undo‘ option if you right-click on the tweak description. In some cases the ‘undo’ functionality will apply the Windows system default value (for example the Set Wallpaper functionality.) A right-click on some tweaks also allows for opening the appropriate setting in Control Panel or the Windows Settings App.
When applying the option “Remove Content Indexing from C:” on the Performance tab, you will see many access denied errors briefly flash on the screen – this is normal and expected behavior that occurs while the content indexing attribute is removed from all files on your OS partition. The errors are relatively few compared to the successes not seen, and stem primarily from Windows files which do not let you modify their attributes or that are in restricted locations, and these would not be content indexed anyway.
Starting with v1.3 (paid edition) Tweaky.exe can be scripted using the /profile=[name] parameter, to reference a configuration profile that you create with Tweaky (e.g. desktop, laptop, server, etc.) The [name] must match the profile name in Tweaky, and should NEVER contain wrapping quotes, even if spaces are in the name.
e.g. Tweaky.exe /profile=laptop
The above will run the “laptop” configuration profile created with Tweaky, but silently with no user interaction. Note you must have both Tweaky.exe and the “Tweaky Resources” folder together in the same path, you cannot deploy Tweaky.exe by itself without the “Tweaky Resources” folder.
Starting with v1.5.2 (paid edition) Tweaky.exe can apply all Windows defaults via command line arguments.
e.g. Tweaky.exe /ApplyWindowsDefaults
The above will apply all Windows defaults to most tweaks customizable by Tweaky, with the exception of most items on the File Sharing/Network tab (DNS will be set to automatic.) This function does NOT reset the Windows 10 Start Menu/Taskbar to defaults, there is a separate profile setting for that.
Starting with v1.5.11 (paid edition) Tweaky.exe can restart Windows Explorer when necessary to apply a tweak.
e.g. Tweaky.exe /RestartExplorer
The above will restart Windows Explorer after applying a profile or windows defaults from one of the other command line arguments, because they are designed by default to run silently they will not restart Windows Explorer as necessary to apply tweaks.
Tweaky is intended for Windows 10 and Windows 11 usage, however many tweaks work on earlier versions of Windows dating back to XP. If a tweak doesn’t work on that version of Windows, you don’t need to worry about de-selecting it; tweaks will only apply on supported versions of Windows.
